Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function as well as reduce pain when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It takes a holistic approach which involves the patient directly in their own care. During an initial consultation we aim to assess, diagnose and establish your treatment plan to get you on the road to recovery as quickly as possible. We offer musculoskeletal physiotherapy as well as men's and women's health physiotherapy, antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy can be beneficial for anyone with injury, irritation or tension. We offer sports massage therapy which is a deeper form of soft tissue mobilisation or pregnancy massage which is a therapeutic massage designed to support the unique physical and emotional needs of a pregnant woman . Each massage is tailored to the client’s individual needs and treatment may include stretching, trigger point work or use of the massage gun alongside traditional massage techniques.
Scar therapy
Scar therapy can help care for your scar and the underlying tissue. We can address issues such as pain after surgery or injury, limited movement or tightness, pulling or puckering, fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions. Your appointment will include a special scar massage plus useful advice for caring for your scar at home. A scar therapy appointment in the first 6 months after a scar is created is really helpful (even if you are not experiencing any complications) but it’s never too late to benefit from scar treatment!
Injection therapy
Injection therapy is used primarily to reduce pain, swelling and improve range of movement. It involves the infiltration of a pain relieving medication or substance into either the soft tissue or joint via a needle. Here at FHW we offer Vitamin Injections, Steroid Injections, Hyaluronic Acid Injections and Arthrosamid® Injections. Our injection specialists will be happy to discuss these options with you.
Lymphoedema Service
Lymphoedema is a long term chronic condition which causes swelling in the body’s tissues. It can impact any part of the body. The condition is best treated early when symptoms begin but you can benefit from assessment and treatment at any time.
Your initial appointment may include; assessment and measurement for compression therapy, recommendations for the appropriate skin care, prescription of exercises as well as treatment using a multitude of techniques to reduce and treat the oedema.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a type of medical massage which focuses on drainage of the lymphatic system. This technique is frequently used for those with lymphoedema but is not exclusively used for this diagnosis and could benefit anyone with swelling or oedema. Our specialist practitioner will use Manual Lymphatic Drainage to help enhance lymphatics, improve drainage, reduce volume and improve shape.
Compression Therapy
Compression boots use compressed air to massage your legs, mobilise fluid, optimise circulation, reduce muscle soreness and speed up recovery. The Pulsio compression boots have 3 customisable cycles which your practitioner will utilise to ensure your session is tailored to your individual needs.
Ultrasound therapy
Therapeutic ultrasound is a high frequency soundwave which causes a fine vibration of the cells in the body. This encourages healing in the soft tissues. It is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment which makes a great adjunct to Physiotherapy.

Shockwave Therapy
Extra-corporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues. It's commonly used to treat musculoskeletal conditions like tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and chronic pain. The shockwaves promote increased blood flow, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, which can lead to pain relief and improved function.
